The Story of Carmunnock

Carmunnock's history lives not only in old photographs and documents, but in the stories of the people, places and everyday life of the village.

The Story of Carmunnock was written by the late Bea Herbert, a Carmunnock resident and local historian whose knowledge, research and affection for the village created an invaluable record of its past.

From Carmunnock's earliest history through its farms, buildings, families, schools, churches, shops and village life, Bea's work brings together the people and events that shaped the community we know today.

Carmunnock Heritage Society is delighted to make The Story of Carmunnock available to read online, with permission.
