The Society has been a registered charity since it was formed in 1965 as the Carmunnock Preservation Society. The charity changed its name in 2017 to more clearly identify with Carmunnock's Heritage.
Our aim is to preserve the special rural, architectural and historic character of Glasgow's last village. To strengthen local pride and public awareness of Carmunnock's rich built heritage and media archive at a national level.
Maintaining and expanding the village photographic archive, along with documents, local stories and historical material.
Running talks, displays, heritage activities and opportunities for people to share memories and local knowledge.
Creation of the heritage trail helping to make Carmunnock’s history easier to discover and understand.
Encouraging inter-generational sharing of knowledge, stories and connections to place.
